Firestone Dirt Track Tires

Firestone Dirt Track Tires

Sometimes we get caught up in the daily hustle of selling tires, and forget about all of the cool stuff that was created specifically so hot rodders could put a personal touch on their machines. One of the coolest products that have passed through our development department and onto our customers is the Firestone Dirt Track line. They’re distinct, they’re old school and they’re the perfect fit for a traditional hot rod…that’s why WE love ‘em. Here are some reasons you should love them…

In case you didn’t already know, the crew at Coker Tire Company deals with more than “just tires”. We have wheels, hot rod parts, and much more to keep up with, and that includes a bicycle company called Coker Cycle Company. The cycle company is known for its 36-inch tires and wheels, so these specialty bicycles and unicycles have a larger than life personality. Coker Cycles is proud to announce the new and improved edition of our popular Wheelman bicycle, a modern rendition of the famous Penny Farthing-style “high wheel” bicycle.

Fiat 131 Abarth gets new Michelin tires!

Fiat 131 Abarth Rally Car

A couple weeks ago, our cohorts across the street at Honest Charley alerted us of a very cool project that we might want to document. So, we did just that and the car is now complete. It’s a 1980 Fiat 131 Abarth tribute car, and it has lots of cool parts on it. The wide fender flares and paint scheme are in-your-face aggressive, and super wide Michelin tires are a perfect fit.

Classic Car Feature: 1939 Packard

Packard Whitewall Tires and Wire Wheels

We often get opportunities to see great automobiles, but anytime a Packard pulls into the parking lot, we take notice. This one in particular caught our attention because it has a set of our tires and wheels on it! George Hubbert is the proud owner and drove it up from Duluth, Georgia to have a couple of new tires installed on the car. While he was here in Chattanooga, we took the opportunity to take pictures of his car and he even let us take it for a spin around the block.

Add Classic Style to the new Fiat 500 with whitewall tires

Coker Tire Offers A New 185/55R15 Whitewall Tire Suited for Compact Cars

Chattanooga, TN – Throughout automotive history, the whitewall tire has been one of the most popular choices on everything from luxurious sedans to muscle cars. These days, whitewalls are still available for classic cars, but adding this vintage style to a new car leaves enthusiasts with very few options. Coker Tire Company, the world’s leading supplier of collector car tires and wheels, decided to fill this void by producing a modern radial tire with a wide whitewall, designed to fit the new Fiat 500 and other compact cars.

New Tires for an Old Hot Rod

We’ve said it over and over again–the right tires and wheels can take a somewhat questionable car and turn it into a real attention getter! It’s a simple fact of sizing, style and stance that makes a car look great, especially in the hot rodding world. We recently had a car come in the shop that didn’t quite have the right look. With about 30 minutes of work, we helped transform it into a cool, old school hot rod!

New Whitewalls for an Imperial!

First off, don’t call it a Chrysler because it ain’t one! Although these cars were manufactured by Chrysler and resembled all of the corporation’s weird cars of the early ’60s, this car was sold as an Imperial Crown…not a Chrysler. Anyway, these are super cool cars and they’re extremely rare, so we were surprised to see Todd Dockery pull up to our shop in one of these! He needed new tires, so we were able to get him back on the road with period correct tires for his classic Chrys…err, Imperial.

Old Dog, New Tricks….err….Tires

Chances are, if you’ve been to our headquarters sometime in the past 10 years, then you’ve probably seen the Shafer 8 racecar, aka The Coker Special. The ole car has been around for a while and we’ve driven it across the country more than 10 times, including several coast-to-coast Great Race events. The car has a Buick straight 8 engine in it, and it runs pretty darn good! It’s spent a lot of time sliding around Corkyville, but it’s about to go on yet another long trip. The revitalized Great Race starts next week right here in Chattanooga and ends at the Hemmings Motor News headquarters in Bennington, Vermont. The Shafer 8 will not be in competition but it’ll be on the trip! We’ll be riding the route in style!
