The Marketing Department at Coker Tire is responsible for lots of cool stuff, as it is their job to get the word out about our great company. In doing so, the department participates in a number of promotional deals, giving Coker many opportunities to reach out and help charitable organizations, especially those who are involved in the old car hobby. One such group, the Chip Mill Charitable Foundation, contacted us a few months ago, regarding a Corvette project car that would be restored and sold at Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction Scottsdale in January.
The car is a ’69 Corvette, painted Riverside Gold, so a set of redline tires would certainly make it pop. We sent them a set of Firestone Wide Oval redlines, sized at F70-15, the original size for the car. San Diego Classic and Muscle Cars also played a large role in the project, by donating the car, as well as a light restoration to the Chip Miller Foundation. Between the car’s final sale price, and funds raised from other efforts at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, the Chip Miller Foundation raised nearly $50,000, which went directly to the Foundation for Amyloidosis research.
