Sunday morning came sooner than we wanted it to come. Theresa and I both could have used a little more sleep.

Norm Miller is the Chairman of Interstate Batteries and was co founder of the Great Race in 1983. Interstate sponsored our breakfast kicking off our second week of Great Racing and the home stretch into Anaheim. Norm led our chapel service Sunday AM. He spoke about real love and what love really means. The God of the Universe gave His only begotten Son so that we might live if we believe in him. It was pretty cool. Andrew led the closing prayer.

Our start was later than normal because of our chapel and stuff but we finally did get rolling at 930 AM. We got to Eastland, Texas by 130PM and had some wonderful catfish on the town square. The mayor stopped by my table to suggest that i step around to the other side of the square to read obout Rip the Horned Toad and how he miraculously lived when put in a cornerstone for 31 years!

I was reminded of “O brother Where Art Thou” when the Sireeeeens turned Delmar into a Horney Toad!

I didnt feel none to very good the rest of the day so after we arrived in Abilene, we slipped off and walked to our hotel to get to bed quickly to “over it”

Guess you noticed i aint been talking about scores much. Duh! They stink…that’s why!

We could not figure out what was wrong today. Every leg was early. We rallied well, made no mistakes but still…

From Abilene,

Corky, Theresa, n crew
