If you are a car guy or gal, you have more than likely seen the coverage SPEED TV does of the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale in January. Barrett-Jackson is certainly a superlative concerning collector vehicle auctions, but in all fairness to my friends Craig and Nellie Jackson, there are a few other cool auctions in Scottsdale the same week. Rob Myers and crew (RMAuctions) put on a great auction at the Phoenix Biltmore. Drew and Josephine Alcazar are also big buddies with their Russo and Steele Auction. David Gooding does an excellent job with his Gooding and Company Auction too. I had the opportunity to make the rounds but was successful in resisting the temptation to buy something this year. I did like the 58 Packard Hawk super charged car at the RM auction though. It was probably one of the nicest Packard Hawks I had ever seen. (more…)

Literally! Not only does Honest Charley have the hotest hot rod/performance styling accessories and smoking customer service, but last week we had a real fire in the building. Luckily, thanks to the quick response of the local Chattanooga Fire Department, the fire was contained and didn’t get to any of our merchandise.

Jay and Mike McCloskey talk about our Radial and Bias Ply tires and the importance of finishing off your car right on Jay’s online car TV show. He’s a real classic car guy who knows his stuff, and knows Coker Tire. Check out the Coker Tire segment as well as some other really cool videos on Jay Leno’s Garage.

Coker Cycles and General Post11 Jan 2008 04:32 pm

Most folks know us here at Coker because of antique auto and motorcycle tires, real wide-whitewall radials (the first ones in the world btw!), or the absolute coolest “shoes” for hot rods. It might not surprise you to know however that there is a fast growing group of fun-loving crazies (crazy in a good way) who buy tires one tire at a time! We’re talking unicycles! Really BIG unicycles! Not only do we make tires for uni’s but we also make the unicycles too! (more…)

I just love motorcycles. Actually I love just about anything with wheels on it…but motorcycles are probably my favorite. I’ve got a few, mostly pre-30’s American bikes. They are easier to store than cars too. Several motorcycles can go in the space it takes to store one hot rod, muscle or antique car. I even have one of my restored Indians in my living room! I’ve had this short video for a while but thought you guys might enjoy it now. We filmed it at my friend’s building in Burbank, California. He told me that the Bell helicopter jet engine had to get to 4000 rpms before he let it rip. Recognize the guy? No…the one without the mustache!

From the road,

Corky Coker

Btw… I am always looking for Excelsior motorcycle stuff so…
